One day a guy is racing up a mountain road, rounds a curve, and skids to a stop just short of crashing into a giant rock slide. It's covering both lanes with 15 to 20 feet of earth and it's quite obvious he won't be going anywhere for quite some time. But just when he's about to give up hope a man with a shovel, hard hat and DOT vest appears out of nowhere, climbs to the top of the pile and starts digging.

The driver, noting how ridiculous this is, gets out of his car and shouts to the worker, "What the heck are you doing? There is no way you're going to clear all that by yourself."

The worker hears this, looks up and says, "I'm not trying to clear this by myself. I've got two dump trucks, a loader and a dozen men to help."

"Well, don't you think it would be a good idea if they were here to help us?" called the driver.

"They will be," said the worker.

"When?" shouted the frustrated driver.

The worker stops, leans on his shovel and says, "As soon as I can dig 'em out, buddy, as soon as I can dig 'em out."
