Ever wondered why every copy of Donkey Kong 64 shipped with an Expansion Pak? It was because of a fatal error that was so embedded in the coding, the programmers couldn't figure out a way to fix the problem without it. This cost Rare a lot of money. -

Final Fantasy is a well-known JRPG franchise, but back in 1987, things were looking bleak for Squaresoft. On the verge of bankruptcy, they put everything they had into this one game and named it as such, thinking it would be their last game. Obviously, it was a major success and now people are anxious for Final Fantasy 15. -

Final Fantasy 7 was suppose to be a Nintendo 64 exclusive, but was moved to the Playstation due to hardware limitations. In its raw state, it would take 5-22 N64 cartridges to fit all the data, depending on the capacity of the cartridges. -

Although released in November 2000, Final Fantasy 9 had a side quest that went undiscovered by many players until May 2013, where one game discovered a side quest at the beginning of disc 4 involving the Tantalus brothers. The reward is a Protect Ring. -

In 1990, Chris Houlihan entered and won a contest where the grand prize winner would have their name put in a then new Nintendo game. His named is included in a top-secret room in A Link to the Past and can only be accessed when the game encounters a load error that's difficult to trip. -

You know about that hippo in Animal Village that sits down when you enter her house, right? In the original Japanese version, she's actually naked and has more defined female features and is actually covering up when Link enters. This was obviously censored for North American release. -

Majora's Mask was created on a bet between Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma. Aonuma was fed up with work on Ura Zelda and wanted to scrap the project completely and Miyamoto would authorize it under the condition that Aonuma and his team create a sequel to Ocarina of Time in only a year. Needless to say, the gamble paid off. -

Zelda's Oracle games were originally designed to have 3 versions, mystical seeds of power, mystical seeds of wisdom, and mystical seeds of courage. The courage version was scrapped completely because it was becoming too complicated to interact with three versions at once. Seeds of power became Oracle of Seasons and Seeds of Wisdom became Oracle of Ages. -
