I am a huge fan of tigers, not an expert, I just put this gallery together to share. There is a lot of conflicting information out there about tigers so I tried my best to just get the facts. Hopefully I did not make any mistakes with this. All of the captions are mine, gathered from various sources.

There are 10 subspecies of Tigers. 6 living, but endangered, 3 extinct in modern times, and 1, the Trinil that went extinct about 1.2 million years ago. -

Bengal Tiger AKA Indian Tiger. Second Largest Subspecies. Can grow up to 10 ft and 600 lbs. Less than 3000 left in the wild. -

White Bengal Tiger. Only known species of white tigers, not an albino, both parents must possess a recessive gene. -

South China Tiger AKA Amoy or Xiamen Tiger. Second smallest subspecies. can grow up to 8.5 ft and 400 lbs. Functionally extinct, top 10 most endangered animals. All known individuals are living in captivity. -

Sumatran Tiger. Smallest subspecies still in existence. Can grow up to 7.5 ft and 325 lbs. Less than 500 left in the wild. -
