Environmental experts say the photograph is dramatic proof of changing environmental conditions that result from sea ice loss. The accelerating retreat of Alaskan sea ice north into the Arctic Ocean severely impacts the walruses who rely on it for everything from giving birth to diving to hunt for food. -
