You have to go back to the 1940’s to find another example. -

Speaking of streaks, the team that the Giants beat last year, the Kansas City Royals, went on a 7 game win streak. This is the first time ever that the World Series winners had a 7 game April losing streak and the World Series losers had a 7 game winning streak. -

Gregorio Petit/ Getty Images The Yankees and Red Sox played a 19 inning game last weekend. It was the longest game (by time) in Red Sox history. The Red Sox took the lead twice in extra innings, during the 16th and again in the 18th only to blow the lead both times. They eventually won the game, making this the first game ever where a team won the game after blowing multiple leads after the 15th inning. -

Otto Greule Jr/ Getty Images Another Yankees tidbit, former Yankees Center fielder Bernie Williams only just announced his retirement this week. He plans on retiring tomorrow, April 24th, 2015. Upon hearing this, former Yankees Right Fielder Paul O’Neil realized he had never filed for retirement either, and announced his as well. Williams has not played since 2006 and O’Neil since 2001. -

Morales jacked a solo home run in the 2nd inning of the Royals first game at Target Field last week. -
