In the decade since his retirement hes made an enthusiastic return to music, his hearty vocal style and rollicking technique -- much influenced by Roosevelt Sykes -- still intact. --BD Henry Gray was raised in Louisiana, giving his rolling 88s a slightly different slant. When he lived here in the 50s, he recorded as a sideman with Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Billy Boy Arnold, and Howlin Wolf, eventually spending a dozen years in Wolfs band.
