Dr. Shogo Nishiyama was awarded time on Japan's national Subaru Telescope atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii for his proposal, "Two Modes of Star Formation at the Galactic Center?" Observations used the Infrared Camera and Spectrograph (IRCS), and 188-element adaptive optics system (AO188) in both Natural Guide Star (NGS) and Laser Guide Star (LGS) mode.
