Apple Avoids Tariffs, But Now Might Just Make Their Phones More Expensive Anyway

Why? Because “screw you,” that’s why!

Ever since the tariffs were announced, companies have been using them as an (arguably justifiable) excuse to make products more expensive. Pretty much everything we use and consume here can trace *some* of its sourcing from another country, and if bringing stuff into our nation gets more expensive, it’s understandable that prices will have to go up in response.

However, it’s now looking like some companies that have avoided the tariffs are going to raise prices anyway, just because.

According to NBC News, while Apple struck a deal with the government to avoid substantial tariffs if and when they’re fully enacted, industry experts are predicting that the company will raise their prices anyway. There’s no real reason given for this besides “they can,” but if I was to be charitable, they may want to maximize profits at a time of market uncertainty.

That, or Apple is filled with a big bunch of jerks. Tell me something I don’t know!
