Canada Spent Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars on ISIS Brides
Personally, I wouldn’t have done that.

The Conservative Party of Canada is calling for an investigation after it was discovered that the government spent over $120,000 on people who had joined ISIS.
In short, back when ISIS was really popping off, some people left their homelands to join the movement. However, as the movement faltered, these people either escaped or were forcibly returned to their countries — and, in the case of Canada, they were treated pretty darn well upon their return.
Not only did the Canadian government pay to put them up in hotels, but they also covered things like a $105 room service meal for a former ISIS member, as well as “snacks, including goldfish and granola bars from Costco, and Timbits from Tim Hortons,” per the National Post.
Many of the people returned to Canada are currently facing charges related to their time spent in the organization. I think we can all agree that these people should both get help and face punishment — but do you really need to put them in a Marriott and buy them a steak before you do so?
