Companies Are Hiring ‘Etiquette Coaches’ to Teach Gen-Z Workers to Shower
They also have problems looking people in the eyes, experts say.

Every new generation entering the workforce is sure to shake things up a bit. For Gen Z, this has apparently involves stinking up the place.
According to the San Francisco Standard, the new, hot trend in the Bay Area is hiring “etiquette coaches” for their new Gen-Z employees. Why? Because, according to employers, Gen-Z workers are leaving trash all over the office, not showering or changing their shirts and questioning why they have to work all the time.
Etiquette coaches in the area have reported major increases in interest, with some saying that they’ve prepared presentations for new workers on how one should talk to their boss, how to do things yourself before asking for help and the sad-but-true fact that yes, work sucks, but we all gotta do it to eat.
Of course, this is just the employers’ view on things. Some Gen-Z workers interviewed for the piece allege that this is a two-way street, with employers trying to push them away from a healthy work-life balance in favor of an “on at all hours, never log off from work” mentality.
Other Gen-Z workers online say that much of what employers describe as “insubordination” is just them rightly telling their boss that they’re stupid — which, that may be true, but they really don’t like it when you tell them that!
How about this as a compromise: Gen-Z workers will agree to shower if older workers agree to stop saying, “You have to see this,” and then loudly playing a YouTube video on their phone while everyone is trying to work.
