Elon Musk Says He’s Bringing Vine Back

Don’t screw it up this time.

Before TikTok, we had Vine — the video platform that limited its users to just six seconds of content. Despite this limitation (or perhaps because of it), creativity flourished, creating possibly one of the last bastions of a shared meme consciousness.

However, like all good things, Vine had to go, and many of the videos on the platform were lost. Now, however, one man says he’s bringing it back. Yay!

Unfortunately, that man is Elon Musk. Boo!

Basically, way back in the day, Twitter bought Vine. Then, Musk bought Twitter and excreted a new name onto it. Consequently, Musk now has access to the Vine archives — and he says he’s going to make them live again.

Will this actually happen? Who knows; Musk isn’t exactly known for keeping his promises. But if it does, we’ll all be able to see such classics as “Road work ahead? Ah, yeah, I sure hope it does!” as they were originally meant to be seen.
