Jellyfish Keep Breaking France’s Power Plants
It’s happened twice in the past month alone.

One of France’s biggest power plants got disrupted because jellyfish are swimming into its filters and clogging everything up — which caused the plant’s energy output to be reduced by half.
While the people running the plant said they were working tirelessly to get it up and running again, it’s clear that a better plan is needed to actually handle these odd floatie boys. Why? Because it keeps goddang happening!
In mid-August, another power plant had to shut down because of an unexpected jellyfish swarm. Although there are systems in place to prevent animals from coming into each power plants’ filters, they’re apparently pretty bad at stopping jellyfish, and now, French officials are wondering what the heck they can do about it without completely rebuilding the filters from the ground up.
My suggestion? Find a way to make electricity from the jellyfish.
