If you’re one of the lucky souls with an “okay” landlord, then you might not know how bad some people have it. Renting a property today often involves navigating a complex web of portals, contact points and payments — with each individual part coming with its own fee. And, for that money, you get, well, a roof over your head, but Lord help you if anything goes wrong!
Given just how not-present most landlords are, you might think that there is literally nothing less they could do. Well, it turns out that the bottom of the barrel wasn’t actually the bottom, and landlords are beginning to switch their communication platforms to solely run on A.I.
Across the country, renters are complaining that landlords are using A.I. not only to raise rents, but to screen potential candidates and answer tenant requests. This means that many tenants now have to go through several layers of generative A.I. before actually getting to someone who can help with their problem.
So, if you’ve got a leak in your apartment, better figure out a way to break through ChatGPT to get it fixed quickly!
