Lawyers Say ‘Cheating with AI’ Is Becoming a Growing Factor in Divorce Cases

Your honor, you should have heard how he talked to Siri.

The rise of AI has really allowed people to see who in their lives lack proper brain function. If you find yourself repeatedly amused by AI images, or think that ChatGPT is your friend, congratulations — you have the same level of global comprehension as the average jellyfish.

Still, the stupids deserve rights and love. Unfortunately, they keep screwing the whole “love” thing up by cheating on their partners with the “Yes, and” robot.

Lawyers are claiming that ChatGPT is now coming up in a surprising number of divorce proceedings. As reported by WIRED, people are finding their spouses having “intimate” conversations with various chatbots — sometimes sharing details that the partner believes should be private.

For example, WIRED notes a case in which a client’s partner spent a significant amount of money and shared sensitive personal details — including bank accounts, Social Security numbers, and birth information — with a chatbot. Their partner claimed the app had begun “consuming the spouse’s life and affecting career performance,” and as a result, they were filing for divorce.

What’s the end result of all this? Well, some lawyers anticipate a divorce boom, since the number of lonely people who want a robot to tell them they’re hot and special isn’t going down anytime soon. Others say states will simply need to regulate how AI factors into divorce proceedings.

For the time being, though, it’s probably smart to just ask your partner to see their ChatGPT history. If they don’t want to show you, you know what to do!
