Man Arrested After Ordering Tools for Hostage-Taking on DoorDash

Note to any future criminals: Don’t Uber Eats your duct tape and zip ties!

At around 11:30 a.m., a man in Sweetwater, Texas received a DoorDash order for a strange, seemingly “I have a hostage”-related mix of items. And so, the man called the police, who promptly visited the customer and discovered that he did, in fact, have a hostage.

When the man was caught, he had with him trash bags, zip ties, bleach, a hatchet and more, some of which he presumably ordered via DoorDash. Idiot, you gotta spread out the orders a bit! Haven’t you ever seen Breaking Bad?

The suspect was later arrested, as well as his hostage (who apparently had warrants — bad day for them, amirite?). But please, if you’re considering doing any crime in the future, don’t — and especially don’t order the tools directly to the crime scene.
