One Guy Tried to ‘Social Engineer’ His Way Through Airport Security. It Cost Him $59,143
You really do have to wait in line just like everybody else.

With TSA PreCheck lines taking about as long as the normal lines these days, flyers are looking for any way to reduce their wait. Philadelphia realtor Jon Beaulieu thought he had the perfect method for breezing past airport security. Unfortunately, it didn’t work, and the result is that he’s going to be out almost $60k.
According to Philadelphia Magazine, Beaulieu was trying to circumvent airport security by walking into an exit lane. When a security agent stopped him and asked what the heck he thought he was doing, he made an excuse that he had left his phone inside and was simply going to go get it. After a little back-and-forth, Beaulieu threw a $50 bill at a security guard and asked if that would allow him to enter (it didn’t).
Sensing that there wasn’t much else he could do, Beaulieu made a break for it — and somehow successfully disappeared into the terminal.
However, his luck didn’t last long. Security soon figured out which flight he was on and informed the airline, which canceled the flight.
He was later arrested and pleaded guilty to his crimes. As a result, he was required to serve one year of probation, pay a $200 fine and reimburse American Airlines for the cost of canceling the flight — which equalled $59,143.
So, if you want to save yourself $60k, just show up to the airport a little earlier!
