Republican Staffer Who Says She Was Ambushed for Her Job Charged With Faking the Attack

Do people not know that security cameras exist?

Earlier this year, a 26-year-old staffer for Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew fell victim to a horrible incident. According to victim Natalie Greene, she was ambushed by three men while on a nature trail in the middle of the night. According to her, the assailants tied her up with zip ties, pulled her shirt over her head, hit her and covered her stomach with the words “Trump [Expletive]” and “Van Drew is a racist.”

Now, anyone experiencing this would have gone through a lot of understandable trauma. Thankfully, Greene can save some cash on the therapy bill — because all of this didn’t actually happen.

At least, that’s what’s been alleged by prosecutors. According to the New Jersey Globe, prosecutors say that literally every part of the event was planned out. Her scratches? She paid a body-modification artist in Pennsylvania $500 to do them, even providing the artist with a detailed plan about which scars she wanted and where she wanted them.

How about the zip ties? Well, prosecutors found matching zip ties in her Maserati (yes, she has a Maserati). They also found that, two days before the alleged attack, a co-conspirator did an internet search for “zip ties near me” — and, oh yeah, there’s literally video footage of her buying the zip ties from the dollar store.

Now, Greene has been charged with making false statements to law enforcement. She no longer works for Van Drew, though the office respectfully stated that they hope she “[gets] the care she needs.”

If you really want attention, you don’t need to go this far — just dye your hair a fun color like everybody else!
