Most people like to think of themselves as honest. At the same time, there are a lot of reasons why being dishonest can be really, really helpful. Seriously, would any one of us be where we are today if we didn’t lie on our resume?

Still, there are some lies that are more substantial than others. For example, most people would agree that it’s bad to cheat on your partner. Well, most people who aren’t in Oklahoma, Georgia or Florida, that is.

A recent study conducted by Solitaire Bliss polled people across the country about where in life they’ve cheated, whether in school or on a diet. What they found is that, of all polled states, residents in Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida were most likely to admit to cheating on their partner.

There’s no clear explanation for why, though one might assume a combination of moonshine and sunshine triggers the “cheat on my spouse” region of the brain. Even more shocking, one in three respondents said they had no regrets whatsoever.

Maybe that’s why people move to the south when they get old!
