If you hear that there’s a news story out of Australia, you can pretty much guarantee that it has something to do with animals. This one is no different: On Tuesday, a Virgin Australia flight had to be delayed after a snake was discovered in the cargo area.

Now, you might be thinking, “It’s just one snake — what harm can it do?” If you *are* thinking that, first, what’s wrong with you? And second, you’ve probably forgotten that Australia is home to most of the world’s most venomous snakes. If one of those venomous snakes makes it onto a plane, and you get stuck with it in the air, it could be a real problem. They made a whole movie about this!

Thankfully, the snake was discovered before takeoff and removed by a professional snake handler, who determined that the snake was, thankfully, harmless. Still, yet another thing to fear if you’re traveling to Australia!
