Thank goodness no one had any 4 fl oz bottles — otherwise, we’d be in *real* trouble.

The Transportation Security Administration has launched an investigation after someone managed to bring a knife onto a plane. This wasn’t a “Oh darn, I forgot I had my pocket knife in my camping backpack” thing — this was a “Y’all mind if I board this regional jet with my machete?”-style event.

In short, a passenger got past security and onto their flight with a meat cleaver. Reporting has not clarified how officials discovered the weapon or what the man planned to do with it — only that he made it onto the plane before being stopped.

Consequently, the flight was delayed as all passengers were searched again. In a statement, the agency said that they “take this matter very seriously.” Sure, but could you try taking it seriously before the person with the blade actually gets on the plane?
