Sometimes, you’ve just gotta go for a classic.

A 62-year-old Middletown woman named Rosalba M. Chiulli has been charged with insurance fraud for allegedly staging a fall outside a Goodwill store. According to her initial statement relayed by the Middletown Press, she got out of her truck, took one step forward — then slipped and fell on a banana peel.

Ignoring the whole “who would leave a banana peel in the middle of a Goodwill parking lot” part of the story — and the fact that our world doesn’t operate on Looney Tunes logic — there are plenty of other holes in her tale.

First, video footage appears to directly contradict what she said, instead showing her appearing to trip on either her own bag or a dog leash. Second, investigators couldn’t even find a banana peel in the parking lot. Seriously, lady? At least plant that!

While she later changed her story to say she slipped on a broken lighter, investigators aren’t buying it. Not helping matters is the fact that she’s apparently done this several times since 2004. So, either she’s lying, or she’s being haunted by things that make her slip and fall in commercial buildings.

Personally, I think it’s the former.
