I’m sure she was going to return it!

In the United States, most grocery stores keep motorized scooters by the entrance for customers who need them.
Seeing these, you might start to wonder about their limits. Can you ride one to your car? What if I parked around the corner? What if I’m following my grocery store trip with an appointment at a nearby doctor’s office? Can I just ride the scooter over there?
Now, police have decided that the official answer to that last question is “no.” A Florida woman was arrested and charged with grand theft after she allegedly went to Publix, took a motorized chair, then drove it around a mile away.
When questioned, she reportedly told officers she was simply taking the cart to a medical appointment and planned to return it. The cops said that wasn’t okay, and now, she’s facing serious consequences.
So, take note: Next time, you’ve just gotta use Uber.
