Last Thursday, a Honda driver lost control of their car, drifted to the right, left the road, then hit a light pole, according to KSTP in the Twin Cities.

Next, the car started on fire and, owing to his peculiar situation, the driver, Sam Orobovich, was unable to immediately free himself from the car. That’s when a group of average Joes driving by decided to step in and pull him from the fiery wreckage—an event that was caught on video.

As one can see in the video, the people had no hesitation trying to pull the flaming car’s doors open. After a long time thrashing with the door, they managed to smash open a window, allowing the group to pull Orobovich to safety.

Kadir Tolla, one of those helping to remove Orobovich from the car, says that, while the fire was indeed frightening, he couldn’t help but try to assist. “We could run away from the fire, but he can’t — he was strapped in there,” Tolla explained. I mean this from the bottom of my heart: hell yeah, dude.

Miraculously, Orobovich survived with only minor injuries. He later put a statement out thanking the group of strangers who freed him from the wreck.

“As an attorney who has represented caregivers in Minnesota for over 40 years, it comes as no surprise when well-trained professionals snap into action to save someone’s life or keep them out of harm’s way,” Orobovich wrote in his statement. “But it is incredibly heroic when people driving down the highway choose to put themselves at risk by running toward the flames to extract a stranger from a burning car that could explode at any moment.”

Score one for the people of Minnesota — maybe they’ll survive the Wisconsin invasion after all.
