Brainfarting

I'm feeling pretty concerned with where were' headed with our entertainment industry's advance on advancement.   When exactly was the last time they, being anybody, invented a game system or new gizmo that was sufficiently astounding enough to have the staying power of the Nintendo, or more importantly, the home computer.   Gawk and guffaw at that last statement, but think hard, when was the last time someone really took us to the next level of technology, and I'm not talking about nanobots repairing artery wall damage or ray guns that make you shit yourself, I mean the stuff you really care about, stuff that entertains you while your at home pretending like what we do matters in the grand scheme of things.   As far as entertainment technologies go, all I've seen is a pretty endless stream of upgrades for the things we use and take for granted every day, like touch screen phones and x-box live, amazing in their own right, but basically not new ideas, just interesting new ways of doing something that's already been innovated.   as the title of this blog implies, there is no greater knowledge I am imparting with these words, I'm kind of just dicking around with an idea and found it interesting enough to share, and possibly evoke something of interest in response.   If I'm wrong, let me know, but I fear that We've reached the final frontier of new ideas for this branch of technology.   Thank god there are plenty of good books out there, or else there wouldn't be anything fun to do anymore.   seriously, the worlds getting jaded by how fast and easy all this crap is coming at us, and no one seems to know what the next big step is.
Well, I don't, anyways, but to be honest I don't really know much of anything, just that the world is scary and there's little comfort to be had in looking at the big picture, so most content themselves with the small, and exist as well as anyone else.
