OUR COUNTRY

IN 1783 won the war but by 1786 all hell had broken loose across the 13 states. Prices were high, credit was fuckign hard to get or keep good, and common labor was in oversupply. Taxes were increasing and everyone was wondering what they were getting for thier money. About all of the states had fellen into depression. Then came a farmer/ war veteran Daneil Shay. He started to stand up and speak about how poorly the government was being run and how many were in prison because of debt or had everything taken away from them (land and homes). After many months of talk and gatherings he got together a large group of people and stormed a court to stop it's session. Only a few short months after that he had gathers over 2,000 men to his cuase . After a short and lost battle at an armory and being routed in Boston he fled and the rebellion was over. 14 of his me had been sent to death for treason. The newly elected legislature in Massachusetts broken and scared gave into the farmers demands  and passed many relif notes that let the farmers pay their bills with promisary notes. in 1787 the Federal Convention met in Philadelphia and hammerd out the United States Constitution. only a year later Shay and 12 of his men were pardoned. Thomas Jefferson had this to say about Shay "God forbid we should ever be 20 years WITHOUT  such a rebellion. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants". Today our way of life is in same way back in 1786  prices are high, foreclosures are on the rise, and thanks to banktruptcy "reform" hardworking Americans can't get relife from their debts and once again the ruling class is in full controll of our government. Who will be our Daniel Shay?
