This is hard to display and even harder to explain in writing, but it's fodder for an amazing cartoon. Basically, the world is running towards a cliff and the given solution is to keep adding more dirt to increase the slope and height of the  cliff to avert the sudden fall over the cliff?  The higher it's built the harder the fall, but it is acceptable because it delays the inevitable. 

When did this type of thinking become acceptable? Yet, it is exactly what we do as individuals and what we ask of our governments. We are a selfish lot and like lemmings we will crash over rocky shoals as sharks feast upon our fatty souls.
