Last Tuesday, u/Glamgalatx headed to r/Austin with a terrifying tale of airline woe, recounting how his flight got delayed after one very farty passenger decided to take up literal and metaphorical beef with his fellow passengers.

Though the man in question was audibly irked from the moment he stepped foot onto the aircraft – “as soon as he sat down he was grumbling about something under his breath, like ‘fucking hell’ or something,” u/Glamgalatx  recalled, these tensions reached an apex with a very impressively timed toot.

“Several minutes pass and majority of people are seated but we still hadn’t left the gate,” u/Glamgalatx continued. “I overhear him loudly say ‘You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell’ and farted.”

While the Austin-bound Redditor was unsure of what sparked this flatulent clapback, they by no means condoned the fart-back.

“It was uncalled for especially coming from a grown man on an airplane nonetheless,” they explained, noting that the individuals in his vicinity were “seemingly minding their own business.”

Despite filling the cabin with (probably malodorous) gas, the passenger then turned his attention to the smells stemming from those enjoying snacks.

“The man who just purposefully farted moments ago decides to loudly and condescendingly say, ‘Yeah, everybody let’s just eat the smelliest food possible all at the same time,’” he continued.

After bickering with several other people on board  — “if you don’t like it you can fly private '' one flier fired back — and apparently peeving the flight attendants, the gaseous passenger was ultimately booted from the aircraft.

“We get back to the gate and a flight attendant comes back and informs fartman that he will not be staying on this flight,” u/Glamgalatx  continued. “He simply replies, ‘I don’t understand’ and she tells him they’ll talk about it off the plane. He gets up, grabs his bag and quietly exits the plane.”

Though the flight “was only delayed by 15-30 minutes,” it appears it was all worth it.

“We all breathed a sigh of relief when he was removed,” u/Glamgalatx concluded his post, leaving it up to his audience whether that sigh had anything to do with their newly freshened air.
