“I do not get paid enough for this” is a common phrase among retail workers, and one this young Target employee has obviously internalized to his core. Facing off against a customer trying to pay with a stack of gift cards, neither the camera in his face nor the man’s aggressive tone phased him in any way.

“Bro is chill. Unbothered. Hilarious. Give him a raise,” @offtheraiIs tweeted while sharing the video.

After accusing the employee of “interrogating” him, the customer demanded to know whether or not it was standard practice to ask gift card-using patrons about their payment method. Without missing a beat, the employee claimed that it was covered in “Section 8.”

If you’re unfamiliar, section 8 refers to members of the military who were discharged for being mentally unwell, or behaving as such. Although the program no longer exists due to its use in discriminatory practices, the line is an absolute spit-roast when used in this double entendre. Even though this employee is quite possibly “faded behind the counter [with] no idea how this conversation even started,” as _connorthegreat put it, his quick wit was still on full display.

“As someone who has worked in retail for years, @PeachyEXP commented, “When someone comes up to pay with a large amount of gift cards, it’s more than likely they got them from scamming.”
