Carnival Investigated After Nine-Year-Old Found Operating Ride
He was also bad at his job.

In May of this year, a man fell out of a carnival ride when one of the workers activated the contraption while the door to his cart was still open. The fall left him with multiple broken bones.
There were a few problems with this story. First, the man who fell out of the cart had been overserved. Second, he had been known for causing problems, having been kicked out of the same carnival a day earlier. Finally, the person operating the ride was just nine years old.
And before you ask, no, this wasn’t in Florida. It took place in Canada. I know, I was shocked, too!
Investigators say the ride’s foreman was cleaning at the time of the accident, leaving his 9-year-old son in charge of loading and unloading passengers. The child noticed that the man who eventually fell out of the cart looked “half asleep,” but, being nine, simply continued to follow his dad’s instructions.
At one point, the boy failed to convey that the overserved individual was having trouble getting out of the cart. Consequently, another staff member activated the ride, causing the man to fall out.
In summary, you probably just shouldn’t ride carnival rides. Ever.
