Though Zoomers may have been too young to experiment with Jägerbombs or experience the sweet, sweet taste of original Four Loko, they’ve managed to revive one of the aught's worst alcohol trends, screwing around and finding out with MD 20/20.

After decades of serving as a cheap gas station staple with a reputation for doling out some of the worst hangovers in the entire history of drinking, MD 20/20 — a.k.a. Mad Dog— has recently undergone a very undeserved glow-up, emerging as TikTok’s latest taste test trend.

“Trying MD 20/20 for the first time!” travel creator Mashtag Brady began his now-viral video sampling the notorious beverage, one he likened to an “ice lolly” after taking a big o’l swig from the pink bottle. “Absolute banger would definitely recommend, that’s an 8.7/10, bro!”

Yet Mashtag Brady was far from alone in appreciating the drink, with several other creators dubbing MD 20/20 as “actually good” and “dangerous.”

“You can keep your little beer!” @sunforestchildd told her pal as she tried a sip.

But not everyone was swayed by these glowing reviews — namely, Gen Xers, who learned their lesson decades ago about the surprisingly sweet high ABV beverage.

“Let me tell you about when I discovered Mad Dog 20/20, I was just turning 21 and that was the Christmas I fell into the dessert table at my aunt’s,” she explained. “It is not to be f—ked with,” @iunderstaandrea, while @genxjono offered an ominous warning to those hopping on the trend.

“This is not gonna end well,” he joked.

For @jerry_coll12965, however, the mere sight of those brightly-colored bottles brought him back to the late ‘90s … and not in a good way.

“For a second I thought I was laying in a bush down by the river thinking I was dying but no… just a flashback to 1997,” they joked in a follow-up Twitter post.

But hey, you live and you learn … and sometimes living and learning, as @genxjono so aptly put it, requires waking up “in the middle of a field with absolutely no recollection of how you got there.”
