People love a little healthy competition, which is why we have sports. For some, however, watching competition on the field isn’t enough; they have to make their own. That attitude is what has given us this gift today: two guys having a flex-off on the flex cam at a basketball game in Australia.

The flex cam starts by showing one guy in a white T-shirt who quickly realizes he’s on camera and rolls up his sleeve to reveal a fairly massive gun, which he flexes for his adoring public. The camera then cuts to another man in a red basketball jersey whose guns are already on display and who flexes both arms.

Cutting back to the first guy, the announcer shouts, “We want to see more muscles, more muscles!,” prompting the guy to roll up both sleeves and flex. Meanwhile, red jersey guy has stood up and is proudly displaying his muscular legs, including his impressive calf muscles.

White Shirt Guy obviously has to match that, so he stands up and flexes his thigh muscles, too, before Red Jersey Guy pulls up his top and points out his abs. White Shirt Guy responds by pulling off his shirt entirely, revealing an impressive set of abs as well, and flexing for the crowd.

While people in the stadium seemed to enjoy the flex-off, many Redditors argued that it was obviously set up as a form of half-time entertainment. One Redditor’s response was an instant classic, though: “This was at a NBL (australian) game. The home teams starting point guard is probably paid a pie and a Coke after the game. He’ll be driving home in a 1989 Honda civic. The home team ain’t gonna be paying for gym bros to entertain the crowd.”

I think assuming these men are plants underestimates just how much gym bros like showing off their gains — they really don’t need an excuse to start flexing and displaying the results of their hard work. Plus, this is Australia, after all — the sun is almost always out, so the guns will also be out accordingly. It’s just science.
