Who needs marriage counseling when you can take a trip to your local Home Depot … or Menards if you’re nasty?

That’s the lesson that TikTok’s latest sleep influencer/apparent wife guy @curious.george.369 said he learned after a lone plank of wood (and, like, some foam and a bedsheet) helped him comfortably sleep next to his spouse for the first time in roughly half a year.

After sleeping on a cot next to his wife for roughly six months due to back pain evidently exacerbated by their bed –  “it’s just too soft, even though we got a firm mattress,” he exclaimed  – @curious.george.369 recently decided to take matters into his own hands, outfitting his mattress with a slab of wood.

“I’ve been kind of halfway joking telling my wife ‘Hey, I’m just gonna go to Lowes or Home Depot to actually get a piece of plywood and sleep on it so that way I can actually sleep in the same bed with you,’” he explained in his viral video, which has garnered more than 2.2 million views.

“Well, I did this morning,” he announced, showing photos of his hardware haul. “I got it cut for a twin-size mattress dimension for my half of the bed and wrapped it with some foam.”

After taking a few other steps to make the board as comfy as, well, a wood plank bed could possibly be, sanding the border and adding a few extra layers of padding, @curious.george.369 said he knew he was on the right track.

“I mean, seriously ya’ll, this is totally gonna work,” he concluded his viral video, laying back down onto his DIY extra extra extra firm bed. “As soon as I laid here, I thought ‘uh yeah, we’re in business, I can sleep here.’”

This hunch wasn’t wrong. Four nights later, @curious.george.369 took to the platform to offer an update about just how much his wooden bed – complete with a few extra tweaks he added in subsequent days –  had improved his bedtime routine.

“Four nights in a row, it’s been awesome. I’ve loved it,” he shared.

Wood – @curious.george.369 definitely would.
