Stan Twitter is a weird place. It’s such a weird place that Donald Glover created a TV show about it, and yet, despite knowing it’s a place where brain cells go to die, we still manage to be shocked by some of the stuff stans come up with.

A recent example of stan insanity is an online beef between a Nicki Minaj stan (colloquially referred to as “Barbz”) and a Dua Lipa stan (colloquially referred to as nothing, as far as I can tell) that spilled over into real life when the Barb, who goes by Jazmine Onika on Twitter, flew to the Dua Lipa fan’s house to fight them IRL.

As chronicled by the helpful Twitter user above, the pair had been trading barbs (pun unavoidable) online for a while now. This is standard for stan Twitter, although most people know better than to get into it with Minaj fans, who are some of the most insufferable people on the internet, made worse by their obsessive need to defend their queen’s husband from people calling him a sex offender, something he is.

After a bit of this back-and-forth, the Dua Lipa fan, whose name is Kenzo, posted a video recorded in front of his house, telling anyone watching, “Stan Twitter, please come to my house, right here… you have my address.” Jazmine posted a video full of nonsensical and insulting bars in response, following that up with a video about their decision to buy a plane ticket from L.A. to Phoenix, where Kenzo lives.

Arriving in Kenzo’s neighborhood, Jazmine posted videos from outside Kenzo’s house, with Kenzo posting tweets calling Jazmine a psychopath. Kenzo eventually comes outside, accompanied by his father, and the authorities are called as Jazmine records the entire situation.

When the police arrive, Jazmine continues to film literally everything, including the police talking to them. The cops turning up also resulted in an incredibly hilarious shot of Jazmine sitting on the ground with their head hanging low, a cop car in the background, looking like the most desolate person on the planet.

In a follow-up tweet, Kenzo explained that Jazmine has autism and “isn’t aware of the consequences of his actions,” stressing that they primarily wanted Jazmine to head back to L.A. so they could get the help that they need. Jazmine went to a motel for the night, and is now back in L.A., continuing to post about Nicki Minaj like it’s their job. Meanwhile, Kenzo’s account was suspended for unknown reasons.

A ridiculous saga from start to finish. A big part of me is hoping it’s all a massive hoax designed to promote Minaj’s latest album or something, because the truth is just too strange and disconcerting to accept. Hopefully Jazmine has learned that taking online beefs IRL isn’t normal behavior, and that defending your fave isn’t worth risking arrest.
