A Singapore Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday after a Boeing 777 dropped 6,000 feet after experiencing "severe turbulence."
In total, 30 people on board were injured and one 73-year-old British man died due to his injuries. In a statement released to the public Singapore Airlines said, "Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. We deeply apologize for the traumatic experience that our passengers and crew members suffered on this flight."

During the turbulent event, the plane "tilted upward" according to one passenger on the plane sending people standing and unbuckled into the ceiling and overhead compartments, some even denting them.

Thankfully more people weren't seriously injured, though an event like this is rare, it is never out of the realm of possibilities.
