Minutes after flight Tu-204 took off from Ufa, Russia to Sochi an engine caught on fire. According to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, the flight operation officer informed the crew about the fire and the fact that the plane's auto automatic fire extinguishing system had failed to activate. 


The Aviation Herald reports that according to Volga's Transport Prosecution Office, the fire broke out when the plane was only 660 feet off the ground, early in its climb out of Ufa.


All 202 passengers aboard the Red Wing's Tupolev flight, all of which were uninjured and got to enjoy the inflatable slides to deplane.

On August 22, 2018, the Tu-204 passenger liner, which flew from Ufa to Sochi, urgently returned back due to a fire in one of the engines. After departure from Ufa in the air at the Tu-204 caught fire left engine. The commander decided on an emergency return to Ufa and landing at the airport of departure. The crew about half an hour ago managed to safely land the plane in Ufa with a burning engine. The passengers and crew were not injured. On Board the red Wings airline were 202 passengers. They were evacuated by inflatable chutes after seven minutes after landing. At 5:22 local time and was given the all-clear alarm, no injuries. Passengers are representatives of the airline and psychologists.
