People airing their dirty laundry online is always mildly embarrassing, but it can also be wildly entertaining, so it’s impossible to say whether it’s bad or not. In a recent example, former NBA star Joe Smith’s wife shared a video of Smith throwing a tantrum after learning that his wife of five years, Kisha Chavis, has an OnlyFans account.

In the video, Chavis can be seen sitting in the foreground as Smith paces in the background, complaining that “I can’t believe I’m sitting here just finding out you’ve got an OnlyFans page after all these years,” adding that she should’ve talked to him before she made the page and that it was “bullshit” and “fucked up.”

Chavis, who is a former adult actress who went by the name Yasmine Pendavis, fired back that since she wasn’t producing content with any other people, it was ultimately her body and her choice to make the account. She also explained that she made the account as a result of financial hardship exacerbated by the pandemic and Smith’s failure to establish a second career. She told Smith, “You knew who the f*** I was when you met me. ... I thought I would never have to go back to anything like this again. But, unfortunately, that’s not the case right now.”

After the video went viral, Chavis appeared on TMZ Live to explain her side of the story. Chavis and Smith have been together for 13 years, and Chavis believes that Smith fell into a depression after going from the top pick in the 1995 NBA draft to being unemployed and unable to build a second career. Chavis created the OnlyFans page over a year ago, and Smith didn’t find out about it until a friend brought it to his attention.

Chavis told TMZ, “I’m just sorry that he can’t understand that. ... It wasn’t a selfish decision. It was a decision that I made. I made an executive decision when my man wasn’t taking the lead. I really love Joe.”

Again, wildly embarrassing, wildly entertaining or both? You make the call.
