Like that one scene from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Barack Obama cannot let a bald head go unnoticed.

At least that’s the only conclusion Australian comedian and host Mark Humphries could draw after listening to the audiobook version of the former president’s memoir A Promised Land. Because, as Humphries points out on TikTok, whenever Obama described an important official in his administration, he made sure to note when they were hairless.

Niche content warning: I noticed a recurring detail in Barack Obama’s memoir, so cut together this montage of every time he mentioned it.

Phil Schiliro, who became Obama’s special advisor, was described as “tall and bald.” Speechwriter Ben Rhodes was noted as “short and prematurely balding.” Chief of Staff Bill Daley got “balding and about a decade older than me.” And Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar was remembered as “balding and bespectacled.”

“Why does it sound like he recorded the word ‘balding’ and then just replayed it every time,” commented one user.

“The way he says balding with so much disdain and odium before going right back to regular Obama,” another commenter marveled.

Maybe he should have made sure that Obamacare included coverage for finasteride?
