Nobody likes drunk drivers. It’s a selfish, shortsighted, s----- thing to do, and it can put complete strangers in harm’s way. The good news is that apparently drunk drivers themselves now agree with that assessment if this latest 9-1-1 call is anything to go by.

Back in March, a drunk driver in Nebraska called the cops to report someone for driving on the wrong side of the highway. The driver told the cops, “I’m on Highway 77 going north, and there’s somebody that’s on the wrong side of the road.” He proceeded to explain that the driver had his brights on and almost ran him off the road, and clarified that he’s in the east lane traveling north while the other driver was traveling south in the west lane. As he told the operator, “That was gnarly. That was like, a lot.”

@cnn A suspected drunken driver accidentally called Nebraska law enforcement on himself, leading to his arrest. The man called 911 to report another driver who he thought was driving on the wrong side of the highway, according to a Facebook post from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office released a video of the March incident along with audio from the driver’s 911 call. #nebraska #highway #police #cnn #news ♬ original sound - CNN

Police have released a video of the stop in which the cop can be heard asking the driver if he knows why he was stopped. As it turns out, he was aware enough to know that he was being pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. Police then asked if he was the one who called in, to which he responded, “Yep, because I thought somebody was on the wrong side of the ------’ road bro.”

“But it turns out it was you,” the cop replied.

The driver’s response? “Yep, like a dumb ----.” At least he’s self-aware.

The driver’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit, and he was arrested. Fortunately, nobody was injured, except maybe the driver’s ego.
