Grocery stores are full of choice. There are a million brands of the same product and the differences can be minimal. Well, one TikToker dove even deeper to find out which companies own most of the store aisle.

Creator @cancelthisclothingco makes videos researching the top 1% who own huge industries like medicine, prison, and the military. He started going over the food industry and more specifically entire food aisles in grocery stores. In a conspiracy theorist’s game of bingo, he colors in what’s family-owned and what’s owned by a massive corporation.

He starts off with probably the most congested aisle in the supermarket, cereal.

We all know the classic brands like Kellogg, General Mills, and Post. But a recurring name that pops up when @cancelthisclothingco looks into the majority stakeholders in these companies is BlackRock and The Vanguard Group.

“I'm not saying you can’t buy any of those cereals or anything, I just thought you should know,” @cancelthisclothingco says.

In another video, he crosses over to the shelf-stable juice aisle. While most cereals were owned by only a couple of companies, the juices were much different.

Many juice brands like Ocean Spray, Welches, Sunkist, and Treetop are co-ops with farmers. Martinelli’s is family owned.

“Juice aisle comrades” comments one user.

There are of course still companies like Smuckers who own many organic juice brands that are connected to BlackRock and The Vanguard Group.

Recently, @cancelthisclothingco has gone on to the dressings and sauces aisle. His findings? A lot of brands with BlackRock and The Vanguard Group as major stakeholders.

The comment section, while interested in the findings, is a bit fatigued.

“At this point, I don't even wanna go grocery shopping…,” comments one person.

“If Sweet Baby Rays isn’t owned by an old black man named Raymond, I’m going to be distraught,” comments another person as @cancelthisclothingco teases his next video on barbecue sauce.

I will now lie awake at night hoping that Little Debbie owns at least 31% of that company. She is a girl boss after all.
