Words I Used in My Last Poem The X People

Someone asked me to post the definitions of the words I used in my last poem, so I thought I would create a list here.  If I left any out, feel free to ask me or to google them yourselves.

xenophobe (fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign)

xenic (parasitic culture)

xanthic (used as meaning acidic)  Xanthenes are a crystalline compound, C5H4N4O2, that is found in blood and urine and is an intermediate in the metabolic breakdown of nucleic acids to uric acid.

xanthine (a feebly basic compound C5H4N4O2 that occurs especially in animal or plant tissue, is derived from guanine and hypoxanthine, and yields uric acid on oxidation)

xenobiotic (a chemical compound (as a drug, pesticide, or carcinogen) that is foreign to a living organism )in that they're foriegn to the living organism of Democracy

xerox copies of one another (no independent thinking)

xiphisternum (The posterior segment, or extremity, of the sternum)

xylographs (a relief printing artistic technique in printmaking in which an image is carved into the surface of a block of wood, with the printing parts remaining level with the surface while the non-printing parts are removed)

xylol (a colorless flammable volatile liquid hydrocarbon used as a solvent)

xylophagides  (A tribe or family of dipterous flies whose larvæ live in decayed wood)

xylotomy (the preparation of sections of wood for microscopic inspection)

xenic culture (a culture of parasites grown in association with an unknown microbiota)

xylidines (any of six toxic liquid or low-melting crystalline compounds C8H11N that are amino derivatives of the xylenes)

xylocarps (a fruit, such as a coconut, having a hard woody pericarp)
