One Friday in a kindergarten class the teacher wanted to end the day ealry. She decided to make a game of it. She decided to ask the students what they did at recess and would then has them spell a key word. If they spell it right they received the afternoon off.

Sally raises her hand and says "At recess I played in the sandbox with Susie."

The teacher says "That's wonderful Sally. If you can spell sand, you can go home early".

Sally spells "S A N D"

The teacher says "Good girl Sally. You may go home".

Susie raises her hand and says "I played with Sally in the sandbox and we played with toys".

"How nice" the teacher says, "If you can spell toys, you can go home early".

Susie spells "T O Y S" The teacher says "Good job Susie, you may go home."

Lakisha raises her hand and says "I wanted to play in the sandbox with Sally and Susie, but they wouldn't let me because I'm black.

The teacher says "That's terrible! That's descrimination! Now if you can spell discrimination, you can go home early...
