I won't lie; when I think of a crime/poverty stricken  neighborhood, my mind automatically thinks of a neighborhood filled with African Americans(from here on out I will just say black. I'm called white so don't read if you have a problem with it). I live in Ohio about 20 min. from Cincinnati. The majority of the people there, besides the suits, are black. Everyone who's been there more than once there are some parts of the Nati you don't walk down by yourself, or leave your car doors unlocked at red lights for the simple reason you might get mugged or something like that.

I've seen gangsters, prostitutes, drug deals, crack heads all in front of my eyes there, and 99% of the time, it's always black people. Cincinnati even has more gun murders than whole countries have in a year. Teachers have told me they took a job in my town over Cincinnati because in the Nati, they have to teach in a bulletproof glass box, with a tiny slot to slip papers through, and a speaker to talk through. Why? Because if the teachers didn't teach behind these boxes, some kids will just randomly attack them for no reason.

Now the question is, why are a lot of these neighborhoods filled with minorities? Look back 50 years ago. Blacks still didn't have near the same amount of rights as white people did. They couldn't get decent work, and where not able to get ahead, even if they wanted too. Could that be the cause of why a sect of black people are stuck in poverty? People who grow up in those neighborhoods don't have the same opportunity I did. I didn't have to go to a school where  teachers taught the same lesson for a whole week because students only showed up on a random day, once per week. I didn't grow up in a neighborhood where the easy way to make money was sell drugs and steal. I didn't have a grandfather who couldn't drink or use the same restroom as the white people, or even find decent work.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is white people have had a lot more opportunities laid out for them. Black people haven't had the same opportunities to better themselves than white people have, so yea, maybe they will be behind the times a little bit. That is no excuse though for them to rob steal etc, nor do I think restitutions are in order.

I will leave you with this:
