Society has strange unspoken rules that everyone follows, but when you really think about it, they're just strange. Over at r/AskReddit, we found some of the weird social norms that people blindly follow but should be questioned.

All these random “rules” about texting people. Texting is supposed to be a medium to talk to people and they can respond at their own convenience. Instead it’s turned into a puzzle of deciphering how long messages should be, how long should I wait before replying, do I double text them or not, did they read my message, why did they leave me on read, list goes on and on… u/Dynasty_30 -

You can't use swear words on TV, radio, or in movies under PG-13; but you learn most of the swear words that exist by middle school. What's the point? And a lot of the internet is still uncensored. That has been changing lately, but there for awhile it was completely absurd because TV and movies were censored but the internet wasn’t at all. u/earhere -

Encouraging people to drink more alcohol. I'm guilty of it myself, 'go on, just one more!' Or I've bought shots for people who have said no, which then pressures them to drink it. I didn't see a problem with it until I saw a guy making fun of another guy for drinking alcohol-free beer. Imagine being ok with being pressured to take drugs? ![<p>Don't mess with the social media manager if you want your social media to look good. That's what one trendy dentist's office did with their newly hired social media person, and like a tooth, things got sore pretty quickly. I guess even doctors can be <a href="https://trending.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/boss-forces-skilled-employee-to-work-overtime-so-employee-uses-their-skills-to-do-nothing/87466959/">bad bosses</a>. </p><p><br></p><p>After accepting the well-paying position, the dentist's office's new social media manager quickly realized that while their work was piling on, none of it was the legal paperwork required to make sure they got paid. After pressing their new managers, the front desk denied having ever agreed on the salary, despite emails to the contrary. The dentist, as I'm sure he did during actual medical school, claimed ignorance. </p><p><br></p><p>Citing lofty gas and toll prices, the new employee decided to quit; having yet to see a dime. But while the battle for payment rages on, the employee remains in possession of the company phone with all of their work as a bargaining tool. And as one Redditor commented on the story, “Seems like a golden opportunity to drag them on social media.”</p><p><br></p><p>Spurred on by commenters, the employee sounds ready to make their move.
